Cookout's To The End Of Season

Hey Everyone,

The net's back up and running and we are loading new photos on our site. We have so many photos I'm going to need to start making archive pages for past years to make room for the new photos coming in. We average taking between 50-100 photos per game, and most of them are great photos. Another thing we are doing until the end of the year, we are having a cookout at every game. Cheeseburgers, hot dogs w/chips and drink are available during our games. I also have 2 HPA tanks for rent, for those of you who prefer running HPA.

Since the last post requesting help with finding a mower to replace the bad one, I have managed to find an awesome deal on a rider mower that we are now using and does an awesome job in a fraction of the time. We are also allowing the growth of large patches of trees at various locations on the field to culture more of a woods/field style game. I know a few of you enjoy woods ball more, so in this you'll hopefully get the best of both worlds. Right now these trees are about stomach to chest-height to most people, but these are a type of tree that grow very fast (approximately to 4-5 feet in the first year, and another 2-3 feet in the second year).

The castle game was moved to May 2008 due to lack of building materials and funding for the project. The castle will be complete for a scenario game next year. This will allow us to build it the way we want to build it, and allow your input on what you'd like to see...as well as allow us to get all the pretreated materials, decorations, and equipment needed to do this right and to look awesome. Thanks to my good friend Jason Saylor, shown below in a photo holding his mask, we will be giving away as one of the main prizes an Ariakon hand pistol w/possible extras for that marker. Other team prizes will be awarded, but all prizes (including main prizes) will be awarded based on performance (kills & rate of advancement) and teamwork (supply sharing, communication & group support). As we build the structure and modify the property for this event, we will be posting photos on a special gallery.

We are looking for team involvement on our field. If you have a team, are starting a team, or are wanting to join a team, please contact me at the number below and we will accommodate you or your group to your needs. See you on the battlefield!

Field Support

In response to our need for a new lawnmower, or at least a lawnmower engine, one of our tourney players (Mark Kuzmits) stepped up to the plate. His father has had a mower engine that he was not using for some time and donated it to the field. We were out at the field this week working, I put the engine on with a little bit of rigging, and it worked like a charm. This donation will help keep our property looking nice and keep the bug population down, and so Mr. Kuzmits we are very grateful for your thoughtful donation.

All donations made to our field are put to good use and will help us to expand and improve our field and what we have to offer you. If you have old wood boards and panels, steel tubing, pallets, tires, corrugated plastic, tin, aluminum sheets or tubing, cinder blocks, paintball gear or even monetary donations, please contact us via email (webmaster@libertypaintballclub.com) or my cell (574-220-4033) and let us know. Even if it is something I've not listed here, but you think we might be able to use it, please contact us. We are very intuitive and can probably come up with a use for it.

We've got a game coming up here on Sunday the 24th from 2-8pm. I look forward to seeing everyone out at the field for a good time. Unlike last game, in which I was extremely late to, despite what the tourney boys think...I will be there early! Place your bets now!

Weather looks like it will be about 85F temp and possible rain sometime in the day for Sunday. I'll be out there early, so please contact me at my cell for details on whether we'll be out there. Most likely, unless it is pouring, we'll be out there. We'll have cold drinks available, .50/can and $1/bottle (if bottle available). Make sure to bring your buddies and family. If you have any questions about the field, directions, special group rates, or other pricing, don't hesitate to contact me.

We're gonna have a great time this weekend. See you on the Battlefield!

Past Event - Game Day 6/10/07

Despite my arriving almost 3 hours late to this game, due to helping family move, I think everyone had a good time that I observed since my arrival. We got some awesome pics from this game, which I will be posting soon as I have already posted some video from a practice game. Mark from Twisted Chaos came out, which was cool, as well as my old co-worker also named Jason. Jason's a cool guy with some awesome equipment, and a great shot from what I've seen and personally experienced on the field. I sincerely appreciated his monetary donation to the field, as we are now really needing it to get a new mower. We've had this used high-back 19" push mower for about 2 years now and it finally is dying on us. The gas tank never stayed on after the mounting brackets broke, and the gas tank is plastic that used these brackets. We've tried using string, rope, and now a heavy rubber bungie with S-hooks to strap that tank on. Problem is the vibration finally ate two small holes in the tank, big enough to cause significant fuel loss and a serious potential fire/explosion hazard. So, I've decommissioned the mower and we are dead in the water until I find a way to mow the property. If anyone has any mower donations, that would be awesome. Please contact me at 574-220-4033 if you do and we'll chat about it. I'd like to use the donation I just received, but our equipment needs replacement cup-seals that I found are about $7 per cup seal. To replace these seals on our entire fleet would absorb almost all of this donation, not leaving room for the paint and air we supply. Both issues are a serious concern, the mowing and cup-seals, because without the replacement seals our markers will not fire properly or at all. The mowing, unless you like giving the under-body of your vehicle a weed/grass bath or enjoy chiggers and ticks...we need to get the growth out there under control. I'll think of something!

Please keep in mind our next game is on the 24th of this month! I look forward to seeing everyone out there, since we always have a blast. This year, so far temperature-wise, has been great. It hasn't been to hot to play, unlike last-year's early August game we had to bail from due to the 97 degree temp, before the heat index, and not including the high humidity from the earlier rain and the serious lack of breeze. Three people showed up, including myself, and we all run the field! Stayed 1-1/2 hours and bailed. I see why nobody came, and don't blame them. Don't want heat stroke or cardiacs out there! This year promises to not be hot, so the weatherman says, and if so we'll have an awesome season.

Check out these two photos of my co-worker, Jason, and James and myself. Jason got cyclops'd, James got a full-facial, and I got a partial. Great view, and thanks to those who created (shot us) these awesome images! Gotta love that last split second, when you see the ball a few inches from your face before it messes you up!

Bring your friends and family and come out and have a blast! We're taking lots of photos and video because at the end of this year I am going to be making our 2005-2007 DVD compilation. This will most likely be a 2-disk set and due to the time involved in making it, will be selling it for $16. In 2004, I made our first year field compilation (which came out very nicely and sold quite a few) and sold it for $8. If anyone would like a copy of our first year, please contact me and I'll get it to you for $3 (to cover my time making and disk cost).

Have a great week and happy hunting! See you on the battlefield!
